Reading at home

Shortly after starting Reception, your child will bring home a book for you to read with them and talk about. This will have a sticker on which says 'share with me' story and it may be a library book or a book from our school reading scheme. They will also have a reading diary, which we would be very grateful if you could complete with dates and any relevant information in order that we can monitor your child’s progress together. We will also be teaching a reading/phonics scheme called Read, Write Inc.  It is an extremely effective way to support children in their reading and writing.

We will hold 'Early Reading workshops' to explain our reading programme and our approach to home reading early in the year so please do attend those and look out for the dates
