Modern Foreign Language Intent.

At Malvern Wells CE we teach our children French and we are intent on fostering an interest in learning other languages

by being introduced to another language in a way that is enjoyable and fun. In line with our whole school intent, we want to stimulate and encourage pupils’ curiosity about language and creativity in experimenting with it ensuring they are aware that language has structure and that the structure differs from one language to another. We are committed to developing pupils’ understanding of different cultures as we prepare them for life in modern Britain and we want to lay the foundations for future study, so that when pupils go to secondary school they will do so with a sound basic knowledge of some linguistic structures and associated vocabulary, with an enthusiasm to learn more and a resilience to overcome challenge.
