Talk for Writing (the English approach we follow in school) have produced English learning packs specified to each year group, which we are suggesting you use. Each year groups’ learning is based on a text. Depending on the age or ability of the child, they may need help reading this. Talk for Writing is an approach that highly values talking and linguistic patterns, so we recommended reading this text a number of times before starting the challenges. Once the children are familiar with the text, they can follow through the packs largely unaided.
If you are finding the pack is either too hard or not challenging enough, then please access the year group either side of their year group which can be found under 'Curriculum', then 'English' on the homepage of our school website. The resources are mass produced for home learning and not based on individual learners, the way we plan when we are in school. This means the pack may focus on something your child has already mastered and, therefore, please feel free to access an alternative year group.
If you have any queries about these packs, do please contact us via the email provided. We would also be delighted to share some of your learning successes on Twitter. Tweet us @malvern_wells.

RE Project Learning ResourceMulti-Faith and Belief Room is a KS2 project children can undertake from home. After pupils receive an email stating that architects want them to design a multi-faith and belief room for an airport being built in your locality, they will endeavour to plan, research and collate the information. The resource is flexible and pupil led and contains enough activities and information to keep pupils occupied for the summer term. We are aware that you have plenty of work to keep you busy but we are also aware that many children enjoy a challenge and may find this interesting. This work is optional.
Class 3 had a great time when 'One Creation' came into school for an Earthquake and Volcano Day. Despite the children already knowing lots about the subject and impressing Becky, the organiser, we all learnt lots of facts in a fun way. We did lots of drama and played lots of games which really helped with our learning.
