Welcome to Class 3 at Malvern Wells CE Primary School

Malvern Wells is a vibrant Church of England Primary School, set within the beauty of the Malvern Hills. Ours is a school full of character and warmth, where a strong sense of tradition sits comfortably alongside a thoughtful, forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning. As a Voluntary Aided school, our Christian ethos is not something we simply say. It is something we live, day in and day out.

In Class 3, our Year 3 and 4 children learn and grow within a nurturing, purposeful environment. Led by Mrs Hernandez-Cox and supported by Ms Spilsbury, the class is a place where children are known, encouraged and challenged in equal measure. There is a real sense of journey here, of children building knowledge, developing confidence and beginning to understand themselves as learners.

At the heart of everything we do is a deeply held belief. We want every child to become the brightest version of themselves. That means ensuring they know they are unconditionally loved by God, that they have intrinsic value, and that it is safe to take risks, make mistakes and grow. From that foundation, we see children develop courage, resilience and a willingness to step forward into challenge.

Our mixed age class is a real strength. Older pupils model, support and lead. Younger pupils rise to those expectations. Relationships are strong and children learn not just from adults, but from one another. It creates a calm, purposeful culture where kindness and aspiration sit side by side.

The curriculum in Class 3 is broad, balanced and carefully designed. English and mathematics are taught with clarity and precision, while the wider curriculum is brought to life through meaningful, engaging experiences. We place great value on talk, vocabulary and understanding, ensuring children can both grasp knowledge and articulate it with confidence.

What matters most is that learning here feels purposeful. Children are curious. They ask questions. They make links. They begin to see themselves as capable and independent learners, ready for what comes next.

We also place great importance on our partnership with families. Open, honest communication and a shared commitment to each child’s development ensure that school and home work together in the very best way.
