As designers, class 4 were tasked with creating their own modern day mask.
We started the project by undertaking market research, making observations on aesthetics, target audience, build quality and materials used.
We then independently marked out materials, took exact measurements, made a seam allowance, pinned and joined by accurately creating prototypes of our designs.
We then cut the material with precision.
The class then looked at a greater variety of stitching techniques, making observations and reasonable judgements on why each stitch has its own effectiveness and use.
We then made a plan, making annotations on the assembly, joining and combining of materials by using a greater variety of stiches e,g, back stich, blanket stitch
To finish, we used finishing techniques to improve the appearance of our product.
