Class One is taught by Miss Davis and Mrs Forsyth.
Please scroll down and take a look at the learning journey we have been on as a Class team so far!
Class One is made up of Reception children who are starting their learning journey with us at Malvern Wells. My name is Miss Davis and I am delighted to welcome you to Malvern Wells and hope that you and your child have many happy years with us.
Our class page is updated weekly, please check back regularly to see what we are getting up to in school.

The children have all settled beautifully into school life. We have been chatting, playing, exploring, singing, dancing and lots lots more!
We have also looked briefly at the work and life of Pablo Picasso. The children have worked hard to retain some interesting facts about Pablo and have created some beautiful pieces of art work.
We cannot wait to have you all back in school on Monday!
Wow, what a couple of weeks we have had in Class One!
The children have settled in to school life fantastically, they are now the most amazing ambassadors of our 'Malvern Wells Way'!
Last week, we had a secret visitor who left some clues to help us work out who he is!
The children really enjoyed being fully immersed in a story for the first time! The Gruffalo was a huge hit. The story inspired writing, hunting, role play and much much more.
Moreover, we have been working super hard in phonics. The children are now masters of the 1,2,3 (to transition to our tables!).
This week we have explored the story, 'Owl Babies'. It is a beautiful story and linked well with our previous learning of emotions, forests and nocturnal animals! At the beginning of the week, we re- enacted the story with our fabulous puppets. Following on from this we have been busy identifying links between the family in the story and our own families. We built houses with lollypop sticks and using chalk the children drew who lived in their homes.
In other news, we have hit our milestone of learning our first 10 sounds!
I am feeling very proud of the children. Please enjoy the pictures below which demonstrate some of the fantastic things we have been experiencing in class.

Another week of reception is done and dusted!
We have made lots of happy memories this week thanks to our story, ‘pumpkin soup’! We wrote a recipie together, sliced pumpkin together, followed the recipe and waited and watched whilst we hoped it cooked!
during our explorations of pumpkin and harvest we have come across lots of new words! We now know what harvest is, what ripe means, what a pipkin of salt is and more!
In Maths, Miss Davis sprinkled us with magic mathematician dust and we all turned into mathematicians. We have been developing our matching and sorting skills we explored last week and this week we have learnt to COMPARE! We have compared amount, size, mass and ccccccapacity!
Hello everyone!
What a whirlwind of fun December was!
We were blessed with some amazing opportunities including a class trip to Smart Trees.
At Smart Trees we worked as a team to read maps to locate the missing baubles in order to crack the Christmas code.
It was SO much fun!
Please take a look at the selection of photographs below to see what else we got up to!
