As a school, we took time collaboratively to reflect on who we are and who we want to be for our children and families. This was not done in isolation. We worked together with staff, governors, parents and pupils to shape a shared vision and values that genuinely reflect the heart of our community and our Christian foundation.
From this, our vision became clear: Let Your Light Shine.
These words are rooted in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
There is something powerful in this. It speaks to identity and purpose. It reminds us that every child and adult carries a light within them, and that it is not something to be hidden or diminished, but something to be nurtured and allowed to shine. We also hold closely the words of Jesus, “I am the light of the world,” knowing that it is through Him that we are guided, strengthened and inspired.
This shapes the way we are as a school. We want everyone to feel secure in who they are, to know they are unconditionally loved by God, and from that place, to step forward with confidence. To take risks, to make mistakes and to grow. There is a deep sense of belonging here, alongside high expectations, so that everyone is supported to become the brightest version of themselves.
Alongside our vision, we are guided by our values of compassion, commitment, courage and community. These are not just words. They are seen in the way we treat one another, in the way we approach learning and in the way we show up each day. They help us to create a school where people feel valued, where relationships matter and where children are encouraged to fulfil their God-given potential.
