Mathematics

Mathematics should be enjoyable, interesting and relevant. Through practical activities and problem solving, the children soon learn to relate maths to everyday life, and appreciate the important role it plays on a day-to-day basis. Children follow the programmes of work specified by the Primary Strategy, tailored to suit the needs of Malvern Wells pupils. They partake in a diversified range of activities to apply their maths skills to everyday activities and put them into context: setting up their own shops, playing shopkeepers, or weighing ingredients for cooking. They use measuring skills to make their own topic books, and investigate shape, pattern and the environment. We believe maths is fun, and we have fun with maths!
